"Are you always chasing the next version of yourself? This week, we explore Santosha (Contentment), the second Niyama of the 8-Limb path. Santosha is the practice of 'enoughness.' It is the realization that right now—before you change anything or achieve anything—you already have everything you need.
We move through a grounding yet challenging flow designed to test our contentment, especially when things get wobbly. We aren't practicing to 'master' the poses; we are practicing to be okay with exactly where our bodies are today.
The Flow Highlights:
The Foundation: We begin where most classes end—in Savasana. Starting in stillness allows us to cultivate the 'Sanctuary of Enough' before we even move.
Core Activation: Building a strong, steady center to support our balance and our boundaries.
Flow & Variation: Moving through Downward Dog variations to heat the body and prepare the wrists for our peak.
The Flight (Malasana to Crow): Moving through a deep Yogi Squat into our peak: Crow Pose (Bakasana). This is our playground for Santosha. Whether your toes lift or you stay grounded, we practice being at peace with the result.
The Quiet Down: A long, restorative Forward Fold to turn our focus inward, finishing in a final, restful Savasana.
The Lesson: Santosha isn't about giving up; it’s about moving with love instead of frustration. You are enough. Your practice is enough."
Theme: Contentment, self-acceptance, and inner peace.
Key Poses: Crow Pose (Peak), Malasana, and Core-focused Down Dog.
Focus: Arm balance prep, core strength, and the 'letting go' of expectations.
Mantra: I am ok. I have enough. I am enough."
