Term 1 (5/10) Aparigraha: The Art of Letting Go

"Are you white-knuckling your life? This week, we reach the final Yama: Aparigraha, or Non-Attachment. In our modern world, this is the practice of 'Open Hands.' It is the brave act of dropping the mental load and letting go of the 'perfect' version of ourselves.

When we stop gripping so tightly to our expectations and our 'busy' identities, we finally have space to receive. This class is a physical and emotional release—moving from the 'doing' into the deep 'being.'

The Flow Highlights:

  • The Foundation: We begin seated on a block, centering our energy with a 3:6 Breath (inhaling for 3, exhaling for 6). This extended exhale is the first step in signaling to the nervous system that it is safe to let go.

  • Flow I (The Opening): Moving through a grounding Cat-Cow into our first heat-building sequence. From the strength of Chair Pose to the expansion of High Lunge with Cactus Arms, we open the heart space. We finish this flow in the grace of Reverse Warrior, reaching back without grasping.

  • Flow II (The Perspective): We move deeper into the side body with Trikonasana (Triangle) before transitioning into our peak balance: Half Moon (Ardha Chandrasana). This pose requires us to stay open and spacious, even when we feel off-balance.

  • The Release: We finish by 'unwinding' the tension with intuitive Hip Circles and a deep Yogi Squat, finally surrendering into a long, restorative Savasana.

Peeling back the layers of 'busy' can be scary, but inviting stillness instead of busyness is the key to coming home to yourself."
