"How much energy do we spend trying to control every outcome? This week, we reach the final Yama: Aparigraha, or Non-Attachment. In our modern lives, this is the practice of 'Open Hands.' It is the brave act of dropping the mental load and letting go of the 'perfect' version of ourselves.
When we stop gripping so tightly to our expectations, we finally have space to receive. This class is a physical and emotional release—moving from the 'doing' into the deep 'being.'
The Flow Highlights:
The Foundation: We begin seated on a block, centering our energy with a 3:6 Breath (inhaling for 3, exhaling for 6). This extended exhale signals to the nervous system that it is safe to let go.
Warm-up: Gentle side stretches and Cat-Cow to mobilize the spine and create internal space.
Flow I (The Opening): Moving through Chair Pose and Low Lunge with Cactus Arms to open the heart. We find our strength in High Lunge and Warrior II, finishing with a graceful Reverse Warrior.
Flow II (The Perspective): Reaching deeper into the side body with Trikonasana (Triangle) before transitioning into our peak balance: Half Moon (Ardha Chandrasana). This pose requires us to stay open and spacious, even when we feel off-balance.
The Release: We finish by 'unwinding' the tension with intuitive Hip Circles and a deep Yogi Squat, finally surrendering into a restorative Savasana.
We learn that by letting go of the 'grip,' we find true freedom."
Theme: Non-attachment, surrender, and creating space.
Key Poses: Half Moon (Peak), High Lunge (Cactus Arms), and Triangle Pose.
Focus: Deep exhales, hip mobility, and finding balance in expansion.
